The Ogden Dunes Stories Project is the next installment in the ongoing Stories Project of Porter County at the PoCo Muse. Since its opening 1925, Ogden Dunes has been a distinctive part of Porter County, an environment that has attracted lovers of the Indiana lakeshore and prominent families from nearby Chicago, a community that has been both highly exclusive to its residents and yet uniquely progressive in terms of the efforts made by those residents. Over the course of this coming year, the Ogden Dunes Stories Project will seek to give a voice to the rich human history that has been lived by real people every day in Ogden Dunes for eighty-five years, yet whose effect on who we are as neighbors in Porter County is anything but stale and forgotten. This will be accomplished primarily through the oral histories offered by Ogden Dunes residents new and longtime, current and former, but be also on the lookout for a variety of community events centered around Ogden Dunes, but designed for the relevance to Porter County as a whole. We at the PoCo Muse are proud to join forces with the Historical Society of Ogden Dunes to unwrap this history with you and to learn even more about what has made us unmistakably and so uniquely Porter County.
What do you love about your community? What would you like to see change? How can we work together across county lines? You are invited to share your answers to […]
